My Guinea piggies
Here is my cage that i made my self from the plastic tray to the fleece beds. I have many, many, ideas for C&C cages and toys and beds for piggies. Please have a look and tell me what you think via the contact form on the cage liner page.
I have 3 children age 12, 11 and 5, and my partner of 5 years, my eldest
daughter is as mad as me on animals and I often find stray something’s in the
house! She has 2 dwarf Russians one who has started to escape but comes back
when you call her! she has one syrian Echo and he is huge he was on the skinny
side when we got him from a bored child in a teeny cage, she also has a robo but
he was given to her recently and we don't quite know him yet,
I have kept guinea pigs before but I realise at that time I knew very little, since
getting them again I have learned so much namely from TGPF, It was my
daughter
who asked for a degu and I was researching them when my OH said
why don't you
get guinea pigs they are great, so I started looking and
found a breeder a few
street's away so went to look and picked two sow's
and that's where my passion
for piggy’s started. Thanks Donna :))

Pepsi
I picked Pepsi (smooth crested)with her sister porridge I liked her colouring, she has had a nasty cut on her eye thanks to peanut but there was no lasting damage. Pepsi is a quiet piggy that just like's to get on with it she is indifferent to being handled but she will try and bite when being dried after a bath or occasionally whilst having her nail's clipped. I should point out it is more a warning rather than trying to hurt me its not like she can tell me in many other ways!
Porridge
Sister to Pepsi and Peanut, Porridge (smooth crested) is very friendly and kissy and chunky! She malts all the time and has the fattest piggy butt ever! Porridge is top pig but she doesn’t really enforce it the other pigs just know. She purr's a lot when you stroke her and is my biggest fan of cosies; whenever I make something new for my piglets she is the first one to claim it!
Peanut
I see pics of my piggy’s on a website and it said Peanut (smooth crested) was the only sister left and I felt so sad for her I asked if I could have her too, she turned out to be a right bully kicking Pepsi in the eye and cutting it with her nail, chattering teeth at me when doing her nails for the first time and rarely purrs when being stroked. She recently decided she likes her ears being stroked. Her bullying has settled now and I believe she is second pig in the herd.
Polo
My son picked
Polo (a smooth coat piggy) so called because she has a white ring
around her neck, she was so tiny when we got her we called her half-a-pig or
hamster pig and she is still our smallest pig even though she's not the
youngest, she is very friendly and my partners favourite piggy, she constantly
nibbles your finger's hoping it will miraculously change in to food!
Pepper
When my son and I went to get Polo I fell for Pepper, (smooth crested) her mum had died and she was fostered with another sow and I felt sorry for her, she’s a very scared piggy but she will relax when you sit quiet with her. As she is hard to catch and very skitty I still feel very sorry for her as she does not get much attention from the rest of the family so I make up for it with extra cuddles
Betty (ugly)
I had fostered some teddies and thought they were so cute so when I heard about Betty I went to look at her, she had ear mite's and a few nips where her siblings had bullied her she was a dirty colour part cream and part lilac and had red eyes and was only allowed to go to a pet home and as I have no intention of breeding my house was perfect, before coming to me she was treated for ear mites and mites and as she's grown she lost the "ugly" part of her name and is now just called Betty. She suffers from ear mites periodically.
Silver
Silver came from Popcorn Paradise along with her sister (and honey the hamster) as it was closing down, she has escaped the garden run twice and gone into the thick bushes at the back of my garden (which now have gaping holes in them) because of her colour she is hard to find, she is a terrified piggy and prefers to be left alone but is happy with her cage mates. Silver is a silver agouti.
Star
Star is also a silver agouti but is slightly lighter in colour than silver also slightly less terrified; they both need time to come round and are much friendlier than when they first came
Tiana and Crystal
Extremely clever hamster's we got these from a neighbour who bought two "females" from pets at home and ended up with litter after litter, we took these two and many other people took some too, sadly most of those have died, they were given to people who didnt take the time to find out their need's and most fought to death most likely because they were kept in too small cages = standard shop bought ones. Personally i go with if you have hammies go for a all plastic guinea pig cage if you have piggies/rats make your own cage from storage cubes and Rabbits think small dog sized i made the hamster cage out of an old wardrobe top is for dwarfs bottom for Echo the syrian each cage measures 123cm x40cm x60cm high
